Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains how nomos system AG handles the personal data that we collect from you when you use our website.

General information

In cooperation with our hosting providers, we make every effort to protect the databases as well as possible against unauthorized access, loss, misuse or falsification.

We would like to point out that data transmission over the internet (e.g. when communicating by email) may have security vulnerabilities. It is not possible to provide seamless protection of data from access by third parties.

By using this website, you consent to the collection, processing and use of data as described below. It is generally possible to visit this website without registering. Data such as pages viewed or the name of the file viewed, date and time are stored on the server for statistical purposes without this data being directly linked to your person. Where personal data (e.g. name, address or e-mail addresses) is collected on our pages, this is done, as far as possible, on a voluntary basis. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent.

What information do we collect?

What data do we collect?

Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. A data subject is a natural person whose personal data is processed. Processing comprises any operation or set of operations which is performed on personal data or on sets of personal data, whether or not by automated means, such as collection, recording, organization, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure or destruction.

nomos system AG collects the following data:

  • IP address and country of origin
  • First name, last name, and email address when registering for a nomos cloud account
  • Pairing information of services/devices connected to the nomos cloud account
  • Serial number of the nomos controller for remote access
  • Push device ID and email address for push and email notifications
  • Telemetry data
  • Remote IP

Why do we collect your data?

  • When you register for a nomos cloud account, we collect your email address, name, and last name. This information is essential for the effective administration of your account. You have the option to remove yourself from this panel, although direct downloads of your personal data is not currently supported but will be integrated soon.
  • When you link your nomos Cloud account to your nomos controller, we store this pairing information. This is necessary for integration with services like Alexa, Google Assistant or IFTTT.
  • We store the serial number of the controller to enable remote access to it.
  • Push or email notifications are processed in our cloud services for delivery, but are not stored anywhere.
  • Telemetry data is stored for diagnostic purposes in the event of crashes and errors, to optimize performance and to improve functions.
  • To enable VPN, we store the serial number and remote IP.

How do we collect your data?

Most of the data we collect is provided directly by you to nomos system AG. We collect and process data when you:

  • use the website
  • register for a nomos cloud account or link your account to nomos controller.
  • use remote access
  • activate push notifications
  • activate controller crash and usage diagnostics

How will we use your data?

nomos system AG collects your data so that we can:

  • create and manage your nomos cloud account
  • link your account to devices and services such as Alexa, IFTTT, Google Assistant
  • improve our services through crash and usage diagnostics

How do we store your data?

For better security, nomos usually stores your data on your local controller and device. Data such as email, first name, last name and other personal data is stored securely online.

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as requests that you send to us as the site operator, the website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser line. If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data that you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

In the case of activated push notification, AWS stores device tokens, which are, however, all anonymized and cannot be assigned to personal data.

Google reCAPTCHA

This website uses the reCAPTCHA service provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street Dublin 4, Ireland “Google”). The query is used to determine whether the input is made by a human or by automated, machine processing. The query includes sending the IP address and any other data required by Google for the reCAPTCHA service to Google. For this purpose, your input will be transmitted to Google and used there. However, your IP address will be shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before this happens. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the US and shortened there. Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website to evaluate your use of the service. The IP address provided by reCaptcha as part of reCaptcha will not be merged with any other data provided by Google. Your data may also be transmitted to the USA. The European Commission’s “Privacy Shield” is an adequacy decision for data transfers to the USA. Google participates in the “Privacy Shield” and has submitted to its requirements. By activating the query, you consent to the processing of your data. The processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR with your consent. You can revoke your consent at any time without affecting the legality of the processing carried out with your consent up to the revocation. Metricool

This website uses Metricool, a web analytics service provided by METRICOOL SOFTWARE, S.L., C/ Téllez 12, Entreplanta H, 28007 Madrid, Spain. Metricool records which pages are viewed and determines the country a visit originates from on the basis of the IP address. The IP address is required solely to establish the connection and is not stored by Metricool.

Metricool does not set cookies and does not store any identifier on your device. No cross-device recognition takes place. The data collected is neither combined with other sources nor passed on to third parties; it is evaluated in anonymous, aggregated form only.

The legal basis for using Metricool is our legitimate interest in data-minimising audience measurement pursuant to Art. 6(1)(1)(f) GDPR. Metricool processes the data as a processor acting exclusively on our instructions; the processing takes place within the European Union and no transfer to third countries occurs.

You can prevent this collection by blocking scripts from the domain tracker.metricool.com in your browser or via a browser extension.

Social Media

This website does not embed any social network plug-ins, buttons or tracking pixels. The footer contains nothing but ordinary links to our profiles on YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok. As long as you do not click one of these links, no data is transmitted to the providers concerned.

If you follow one of these links, you leave our website. From that point on, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies, over which we have no influence. We maintain our own profiles on these platforms; the providers supply us with aggregated statistics about them, the collection of which we likewise do not control.

Contractual services

We process the data of our contractual partners and interested parties, as well as other clients, customers, clients, clients or contractual partners (uniformly referred to as “contractual partners”) in accordance with the data protection regulations of the federal government (Data Protection Act, DSG) and the EU-DSGVO in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b. DSGVO, in order to provide them with our contractual or pre-contractual services. The data processed, the type, scope, purpose and necessity of their processing are determined by the underlying contractual relationship.

The processed data includes the master data of our contractual partners (e.g. names and addresses), contact data (e.g. email addresses and telephone numbers) as well as contract data (e.g. services used, contract contents, contractual communication, names of contact persons) and payment data (e.g. bank details, payment history).

We do not process any special categories of personal data, unless these are part of a commissioned or contractual processing.

We process data that is necessary for the justification and fulfillment of the contractual services and point out the necessity of their disclosure, insofar as this is not evident to the contractual partners. Disclosure to external persons or companies only takes place if it is required under a contract. When processing the data provided to us in the context of an order, we act in accordance with the instructions of the client and the legal requirements.

When using our online services, we may store the IP address and the time of the respective user action. The storage is based on our legitimate interests, as well as the interests of users in protection against misuse and other unauthorized use. In principle, this data is not passed on to third parties, unless it is necessary to pursue our claims in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. DSGVO or there is a legal obligation in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c. DSGVO.

The data will be deleted when it is no longer required for the fulfillment of contractual or statutory duties of care and for dealing with any warranty and comparable obligations, whereby the necessity of storing the data is reviewed at irregular intervals. In all other respects, the statutory retention requirements apply.

Question chat in the documentation

On our documentation site documentation.nomos-system.com you can ask questions about nomos in your own words. An AI language model writes the answer from the content of our handbooks.

For this we process your question, the conversation so far (at most six questions and answers) and the language of the page. The conversation is kept only in your browser’s memory and is gone when you close the window. The chat needs no account and no cookies.

We process your IP address to prevent abuse: it limits the number of questions per hour and per day and is stored for this purpose for at most 24 hours. In the server logs of our cloud infrastructure (Amazon Web Services, Ireland region) it is kept for at most 3 days.

Your question, the conversation and the matching sections of our handbooks are sent to Anthropic Ireland, Limited, the provider of the Claude language model. Anthropic processes this data on our behalf. Anthropic receives neither your IP address nor any other identifier, does not use the data to train its models and usually deletes it after 30 days. Content that violates Anthropic’s usage policies may be kept longer. Anthropic may also process the data in the USA. The transfer is based on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses including the Swiss addendum. Please also see our note on data transfer to the USA.

To improve the documentation, we store each question without the IP address and without the answer: the question text, the language, the time and whether the handbooks contained an answer. These entries are deleted automatically after 90 days. Please therefore do not enter passwords, serial numbers or other personal data in the chat.

The processing is based on our legitimate interest in answering questions about our products quickly and in improving our documentation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The answers are generated by AI. They may contain errors and do not replace advice from your integrator or our support.

Note on data transfer to the USA

Among other things, our website includes tools from companies based in the United States. When these tools are active, your personal data may be transferred to the US servers of the respective companies. We would like to point out that the USA is not a safe third country within the meaning of EU data protection law. US companies are obliged to release personal data to security authorities without you as the data subject being able to take legal action against this. It therefore cannot be ruled out that US authorities (e.g. secret services) may process, evaluate and permanently store your data on US servers for monitoring purposes. We have no influence over these processing activities.
